Hello Angel Friends,

While I usually discuss the angels in a non-denominational way, they have played an important role in religions throughout the ages. There is a hierarchy to the order of the angels and I thought you might be interested to know a little about it. Here is a brief description of that hierarchy.

There are nine types of angels broken out within three major groups called Orders or Choirs. Each Order consists of three types of angels.

The First Order consist of the Seraphim, Cherubim and Thrones. The Second Order are the Dominions, Virtues, Powers. And the Third Order are the Principalities, Archangels and Angels.

First Order

Seraphim: These are of the highest order of angels and are known to sit closest to God.

Cherubim: These are second highest order and are linked to God’s glory.

Thrones: These are angels of peace and act as a bridge between God and the angels of the Second Order.

Second Order

Dominions: These are the leaders who regulate the duties of the angels.

Virtues: These angels govern the elements of nature.

Powers: These angels are the warriors who defend us humans.

Third Order

Principalities: These are the guardian angel of nations.

Archangels: These angels are chiefly responsible for humans and are God’s messengers to us.

Angels: These angels are closest to human beings and can access all other Angels for help in assisting those needing help.

As always, sending you Angel Love and Light,
